At the heart of our ministry is one-to-one child sponsorship: your monthly gift funds one specific child's education, nutritious meals, medical checkups, and discipleship activities. Every six months, that child will thank you by name in a personal video update, so you can see your gift at work.
This isn't outsourced to strangers. Grace Charity School's founder, Pastor Victor Sammuel, was abducted and held for 24 days in 2012 for this very work — and still leads the school today.
We provide school fees, uniforms, and supplies, along with tutoring for children who have fallen behind. Alongside academics, weekly Bible clubs and mentoring help children grow spiritually in a safe, encouraging environment.
The school currently draws from a single well — and it isn't a stable source. When the area floods, that well turns to mud, and the water that comes out of it makes children and staff sick. There's no backup.
Our next major funding goal is a deep well that can provide consistent, clean water year-round regardless of flooding. Alongside that, we're working toward funding a staff medic at the school, so illness and injury can be treated on-site instead of families having to find (and afford) care elsewhere.
Long-term change means the debt cycle can't just end with the child we sponsor — it needs to end for their family too. Once our core school funding is secure, we hope to launch vocational training and small livelihood support for parents, so families have a real way to stay out of bonded labor for good.
